Course Description:

         

A wellness course designed to aid students in understanding the nature and sources of stress. Stress management coping strategies and relaxation techniques will be introduced

 

 

Core Learning Outcomes:

 

By the completion of the course students will:

 

1.    Understand the physiology of the stress response

2.    Understand the relationship between stress and disease

3.    Examine the sources of stress in life

4.    Value the role of stress management in lifelong learning by trying several stress management coping strategies

 

 

Instructional Methods:

 

Online power point lectures, textbook reading, discussion board, instructor feedback on workbook assignments, audio CD of relaxation methods, and instructor feedback on individual student research project.

Students will be made aware of progress by the end of the 6th week of class.

 

Attendance Policy:  

Internet attendance is expected in the form of regular weekly contribution to the discussion board. All late work is subject to a late or no-credit grade.
