Students who violate either of these codes may receive a failing grade in the class.  Information about these codes and other student policies, procedures, and penalties is available on the Student Policy and Procedures web page at http://www.frederick.edu/student_services/studentpolicies.aspx

Student Services:

A variety of services are available to assist students in succeeding at FCC. Students can learn more about these services by visiting the Student Services web page: http://www.frederick.edu/student_services/index.aspx

Participation Policy:

Class attendance is stressed. Students are expected to attend all classes and be prepared.  Absence from class does not constitute a reason for being unprepared at subsequent class sessions or a reason to turn in work late.

If you must miss class due to serious illness, emergency, religious holidays, or participation in official college functions please inform the instructor in advance.

All work (document processing, drills, and timed writings) must be completed using the Gregg typing software package.

Federal Credit Hour Statement

At Frederick Community College, in all credit courses, students are expected to invest a minimum of two hours completing out-of-class course work for every hour of instructional time. For online and hybrid courses, students can expect active instruction time and “out-of-class” course work to be comparable to face-to-face courses with the same number of credits. For example, during a traditional 15-week, 3 credit course, students experience 2.5 hours per week of instructional time and should invest a minimum average of 5 hours per week in out-of-class time preparing for the course and completing assignments and activities.

E-mail Policy:

All students will receive and be expected to use their FCC email address for their correspondence with faculty and staff at the college.  Students can establish and access their FCC email accounts at the login page: https://myfcc.frederick.edu

Notes:

Students will arrive on time and begin typing

All drills, timings and document processing must be completed using the Gregg typing software package.  Students will have ONE week to complete and submit all work.

Students will practice keyboarding outside of class equal to class time

All document processing MUST be started in class and must be saved as directed in the book using the keyboarding software.

Students will be expected to proofread and find all mistakes before submitting document processing assignments.  You will not be given the chance to edit and correct the document processing assignments. The original document processing assignment is the only assignment that will be graded.

If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please feel free to talk with me about them.
