First Time Online
Welcome to taking your first online course. Before Registering for an Online Class follow these steps:

    Step 1: Assess your readiness for online learning.

  • Take this quick Self Assessment Test to help you determine how well distance learning courses fit your personal circumstances and characteristics.

    Step 2: Check the technical requirements for online courses.

  • Go to the Technology Requirements page to make sure that your computer meets the basic system requirements for FCC online courses.

    Step 3: Review the course description for the courses that interest you.

  • Go to the FCC live Schedule of Online Courses search the appropriate semester to select the courses that interest you. 
  • Click on the underlined name of the course (like 'Survey of Art') to access the Course Description with currently available seats in the selected Session. You will also find the instructor's name, if the instructor has been assigned. Feel free to contact the instructor with any course-specific questions.
  • Most of the online courses have gone through a national quality assurance review indicated in the Schedule of Online Courses by the QM logo, click to find out more.
  • Pay close attention to the course type (ONL); other coursesare delivered in a "blended" format (type HYB), meaning that there are required, regularly scheduled class meeting dates, while some may have other on-site requirements.     Step 4: Register for courses.

  • Apply for admission to FCC if you are not a currently enrolled student.
  • Meet with an advisor to select the course or courses that meet your educational goals.
  • Register for the course or courses you have selected either in a person or online.
  • If you are registering online through the FCC Online Information System  and have questions or problems with the system, please contact the FCC Help Desk.
