Frederick Community College is a member of  Maryland On-Line (MOL). In this consortium Maryland's community colleges cooperate to share distance learning courses. In addition to its own distance learning courses, FCC offers you a selection of courses that are provided by other Community Colleges in Maryland. All are taught by excellent faculty from around the state.
The courses are administered through FCC and fall into two broad categories:

mouse1.gif (955 bytes) Online Internet courses. In these courses you communicate with your instructor through the course website and via email or voice mail.

comms09a.gif (980 bytes) MIDLN courses. MIDLN stands for "Maryland Interactive Distance Learning Network" which links interactive classrooms on many campuses across the state. MIDLN classes will meet in FCC's interactive classroom (E 104). If the course is provided by another college, the instructor, together with a group of students, will be located in the interactive classroom of that college, and you will communicate by video and audio like in a tele-conference. If FCC provides the course, the instructor will be in your classroom in person and will communicate  in the same way by video and audio with the students in the other college.
