Frederick Community College is a member of
Maryland On-Line
(MOL). In this consortium Maryland's community
colleges cooperate to share distance learning courses. In addition to its own distance
learning courses, FCC offers you a selection of courses that are provided by
other Community Colleges in Maryland. All are taught by excellent faculty from around the
state.
The courses are administered through FCC and fall into two broad categories:
Online
Internet courses. In these courses you communicate with your
instructor through the course website and via email or voice mail.
MIDLN courses. MIDLN
stands for "Maryland Interactive Distance Learning Network" which links
interactive classrooms on many campuses across the state. MIDLN classes will meet in FCC's interactive classroom
(E 104). If the course is provided by another college, the instructor, together with a
group of students, will be located in the interactive classroom of that college, and you
will communicate by video and audio like in a tele-conference. If FCC provides the course,
the instructor will be in your classroom in person and will communicate in the same
way by video and audio with the students in the other college.
